Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training gives you the skills you need to lead teams through breakthrough improvements and support strategic objectives in any function or department of any organization. Our Black Belt course prepares you to solve a wide variety of difficult problems across a wide spectrum of industries, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative methods. This course also prepares Black Belts for their role as change agents in training and mentoring and provides creative thinking modules that can be used to move a team’s thinking beyond old assumptions and familiar paradigms.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able

  • Apply Lean such concepts as 5S, waste reduction, process mapping, value stream mapping, and mistake proofing.
  • Define, scope, and execute DMAIC projects.
  • Apply the DMAIC methodology to business issues and transition projects from phase to phase.
  • Apply basic and more advanced statistical analyses to determine the relationship between key inputs and process outputs.
  • Effectively manage team dynamics and understand how to work with multiple levels of leadership to remove barriers and achieve project success.
  • Close projects and hand over control to process owners.
  • Present projects to instructors, peers, and managers.
Pre-requisites

No prerequisites are required but basic math, project management, and communication and leadership skills are desirable. If you have already taken Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training, please contact us to upgrade to Black Belt.

Duration

10 virtual labs, each lab is 5 consecutive days of 4-hour sessions. Additional online learning is required.

To be eligible to obtain CEUs
Participants must attend all instructor-led sessions and fully contribute to all instructional activities.

This course follows the disciplined Six Sigma DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) roadmap, providing a framework to define and scope and problem, collect and analyze performance data, identify inefficiencies and problems, pinpoint root causes, and implement solutions to greatly improve and control processes. In addition to teaching the complementary methodologies of Lean and Six Sigma, this course covers skills in leading teams through the process of change. It also includes material on brainstorming, innovation, and the application of creative thinking techniques.
Minitab statistical software package is used.

Courses are complete with engaging visual content and animated modules, as well as activities and real-world case studies. Featuring a practical and applied focus, this course includes training, quizzes, and exams. Quizzes and exercises reinforce key learning points.
